Getting into the Matta Fair 2010 via the main hall 1, the first thing I noticed was Sabah Tourism's booth which was very nicely decorated to attract much attention. There were about 16 travel companies from Sabah Borneo who were promoting Eco-Tourism, Nature, Wildlife, Islands and Diving Packages around Sandakan and Tawau in East Coast Sabah. Each package you buy will also land you with a nice cute gift from Sabah Tourism.

MATTA Fair 2010 held on the 12th to 14th March at PWTC (Putra World Trade Center) in Malaysia is one of the best travel fairs in Malaysia which you should attend if you are looking for fantastic holiday packages and great bargains. This year alone, there are an estimated 900 booths at the MATTA Fair 2010 and after a recovering 2009, the economy is back up again so one would expect really good deals from the participating travel agencies there.

Sandakan War Memorial Park - Lest We Forget

Sandakan War Memorial or Sandakan Memorial Park is located in the outskirts of Sandakan, Sabah Borneo. The site is just next to the actual POW (Prisoners of War) camp which was set up during the World War Two Japanese Occupation from 1942 to 1945 which witnessed the death of 2400 Australian and British POW held by the Japanese here. This war memorial was officially opened on the 15th February 1999 and the memorial park is dedicated to the men who lost their lives in the Borneo Death Marches during the Second World War.

Agnes Keith House in Sandakan is one of the popular places worth a visit as it is located in town area. This famous landmark house called Newlands was a former British colonial quarters and was once lived in by Agnes Newton Keith, a well known American writer who penned the famous 'Land Below The Wind' in 1939. In her stay here from 1934 to 1952, Agnes Keith wrote two out of her seven books at this house in Sandakan, Borneo.

The Rainforst Discovery Trail or Plants Discovery Trail is one of the highlights at the Rainforest Discovery Centre RDC in Sepilok, Sabah. This unique 800 meter long trail is filled with all kinds of rainforest flora and a very educational walk. I must admit that I had an awesome time viewing the different types of plants and flowers along this walk at the RDC. You must be a nature or flower lover to enjoy this trail and in this article, it is all dedicated to the Flora of Sabah Borneo.

The Canopy Walk at Rainforest Discovery Centre RDC in Sabah is one of the most unique canopy walks or sky walks I have been on. This mega steel structure is located along the Rainforest Discovery Trail at the RDC in Sepilok, Sabah and experiencing this canopy walk was a very memorable one for me as I have experienced four other canopy walks around Malaysia.

E&O Hotel or Eastern and Oriental Hotel in Penang is Malaysia's answer to the Raffles Hotel in Singapore or the Strand in Rangoon (Myanmar). This beautiful 5-Star Luxury Hotel stands majestically along Farquhar Street in Penang - A UNESCO World Heritage Status and was originally opened by the Sarkies Brothers back in 1885 who also owned the other two hotels mentioned.

Hong Kong Disneyland

Hong Kong Disneyland is my third Disneyland visited around the world where I have visited the Anaheim Disneyland in California and also the Tokyo Disneyland in Japan. What else but make that pilgrimage here since I had an extra day while visiting Hong Kong and the Disneyland Packages were irresistible when offered by my hotel, The Dorsett Seaview.

Putrajaya is one amazing well planned city which is also the administrative capital of Malaysia. Known also as the Garden City or Intelligent City, this massive project took off in 1995 at a cost of US$8.1 Billion during the tenure of former prime minister, Tun Mahatir and was finally ready in 1999 totaling over an area of 4,932 hectares which was strategically centralized between the capital of Kuala Lumpur and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Langkawi Cable Car is one of the must-visit places when you are on holiday in Langkawi Island. I had the opportunity of visiting this unique design cable car ride which is located in the Oriental Village at the foot of Gunung Machinchang (Mount Machinchang or Mat Chincang) . Getting to Langkawi Cable Car is fairly easy as it is only a 30 minute drive from Kuah Town in which I rented a car for my exploration around Langkawi Island.
